ELEVEN fearless parents threw themselves over the top of Rum Tickle Viaduct, near Thurgo- land.
And their abseiling raised nearly £500 for Denby Dale Parent and Toddler Group.
One parent, Emily James, said "It was scary, but a real buzz once you got going. And it's a great way to raise money!"
The novices were in the safe hands of Steve Bateman, from All Outdoors, who ran the abseiling session.
The next fundraising event is a coffee morning on July 13, run by Madisons of Huddersfield.
The toddler group, a registered charity, is an integral part of the community and relies on fundraising efforts throughout the year.
It is based at Denby Dale Methodist Church and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays for children up to two-and- a-half. The playgroup is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for two to four-year-olds.
