MORE yellow lines near shops in Mirfield will just push parking problems somewhere else, a councillor claims.
Kirklees Council has approved plans to lengthen yellow lines in Nettleton Road even further from its junction with Doctor Lane.
The move is to stop drivers double parking and causing problems for buses and other motorists.
However Mirfield councillor Martyn Bolt is worried the new restrictions will cause problems for the convenience store and Chinese takeaway in Nettleton Road.
He said: "This will undoubtedly cause problems for traders.
"This is an act of displacement, not a solution. The cars will just park elsewhere and cause similar problems."
