A Colne Valley bistro has closed its doors – less than five months after a move to new premises.

Parky’s Bistro moved from Home Mills at Britannia Road, Milnsbridge, to the former Millers Wine Bar at nearby Market Street in June.

But owners Michael and Georgia Parkinson have stunned customers by posting a message on Facebook saying that the bistro has closed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Mr Parkinson declined to comment on the reasons for the decision.

The message said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Parky’s Bistro has had to close it’s doors. We would like to thank the customers who continued to support us after our move and all the new customers who joined us when we re-opened.

“We had hoped it could have lasted a while longer as we have thoroughly enjoyed creating the bistro to what it is today, but this was not meant to be.

“For those customers who have got bookings in the diary with us, we will be contacting you in person over the next couple of days. Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU.”

The couple held a launch party following the move to the Market Street premises, which they refurbished to provide seating for 50 to 60 diners along with a bar.

Parky’s opened in 2015 at Home Mills, formerly Lindsays Furniture Mill, but left due to changes planned for the building.
