A MISSING parrot is serenading people to sleep by singing the theme from The A Team and Neighbours to them.

The bedtime concert comes courtesy of songbird Ollie, the flyaway parrot who vanished from his Rastrick home.

He has now returned to the same street - but all attempts by his owner to entice him back indoors have proved fruitless.

He has taken up residence in trees on Clough Lane and yells out `good morning' to passers-by before launching into his TV theme tune concert - usually at bedtime.

His owner, Josephine Wilson - who has had him for 15 years - said: "Ollie is quite a character and we'd love to have him safely back in the house, but we just can't persuade him to come home."

Josephine and husband, Michael, are now asking people with experience of parrots to come up with ideas to help.

"We love Ollie to bits and miss him so much," she said.

Ollie, a blue-fronted Amazon parrot, escaped through an open conservatory window a week last Thursday.

The couple searched for him and put up posters in the area - but Josephine suddenly heard him when she was sitting in the garden last Monday.

"He was making a hacking noise which means he wants something," she said. "He eats anything from seeds to Yorkshire pudding.

"We've tried everything we can think of to tempt him down."
