HUDDERSFIELD New College students entered into the spirit of a fundraising day for breast cancer.

The event, organised by the Students’ Union, brings the total students have raised for the Coppafeel charity to over £3,500 in two years.

Students decorated ‘The Street’ (the large entrance area), sold T-shirts they had designed and gave hugs for a minimum donation of 50p. They also organised a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and tropical fruit.

Events coordinator Emily Zubak said: “ Everyone wanted to contribute. It was a fantastic result.”

Coppafeel was set up to combat late diagnosis of breast cancer, particularly in young people, by encouraging them to check their breasts regularly.
