FILM star Patrick Stewart's handprint has been up for sale on internet auction site eBay.

The Mirfield-born actor gave the ink impression at London's Apollo Theatre last month, where he is appearing in hit play A Life in the Theatre.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the BBC Children in Need charity.

Bidders were being promised an autographed print measuring 5in by 7in.

Stewart, 64, inked his hand up before going on stage at the Apollo in the comedy with Dawson's Creek star Joshua Jackson.
