AS part of our Pedal for Pounds 3 coverage we will be tracking three cyclists who are all in different teams.

Their progress can be seen here.

In team yellow is Richard Somerville.

The Pedal for Pounds veteran completed last year’s ride and couldn’t wait to do this year’s.

The 46-year-old construction project manager from Lepton said: “It was great last time so I definitely wanted to do it this year.

“The ride could be very weather dependent. If it’s wet it will be a lot harder.

“Last year was sunny so it was great, but the weather will make a big difference.”

Purple team member and new dad Richard Noon will also be tracked via his mobile phone.

The Research director at town centre-based Ask Insight was expecting his first child when he took part in the Brighton ride last year.

Now, his partner Alice and 10-month-old son will be able to track his progress from Yeovil.

The 28-year-old from Meltham joked: “It is a little more difficult to train this year, now Oliver is 10-months-old.

“But the family will be able to keep up with where we are all at and I am really looking forward to it.”

Mirfield man John Paul Drake has stayed with Team Black after successfully completing the ride last year.

The Internet marketeer, who works at WSI Yorkshire, Holmfirth, said: “I am once again in the black team, which apparently this year is the black and lime green team.

“Half the reason I wanted to do it again was because of the camaraderie last year.

“It was a great laugh and all the team members got on really well.”

He is looking forward to sharing his experience with members of his band Propane Penny.
