AN ELDERLY woman died from a head injury after a fall at her home, an inquest heard.
Patricia Ramsbottom, who lived alone, was found unconscious by carers at her top floor flat in Batley.
She had fallen down the stairs and a CT scan revealed that she suffered a brain haemorrhage during the fall.
Doctors were unable to resuscitate the 81-year-old and she died at Dewsbury District Hospital on January 11 this year.
The Huddersfield inquest heard the divorcee had heart disease and had suffered from dizzy spells and falls in the past.
Recording a verdict of accidental death, coroner Roger Whittaker said he believed Mrs Ramsbottom’s illness had caused her to fall.
