PLANS are afoot to install at least 1,000 paper origami cranes in Byram Arcade in Huddersfield.

Elisa Etemad is the owner of jewellery business Crafty Praxis and organiser of the Crane Project.

The challenge is to make an installation of the cranes and suspend them from the upper levels in the arcade.

Elisa said: “The aim is to help raise money and awareness for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust. The cranes will be suspended by monofilament and made from a variety of papers.

“The plan is to have the installation finished by September 30 and ready for all to see – and have it up until the end of November.”

Elisa is a member of Tea and Tarts WI and the Trust is its chosen charity this year.
