A PERVERT has exposed himself to several young children aged under 10.

The man first struck in Deighton at 1.30pm yesterday and then again in Newsome an hour later.

In both cases he was committing an indecent act on himself and police are anxious to catch him quickly.

Det Con Steve Shaw, of Huddersfield CID, said: "These were very serious offences and the victims are all very young.

"We have a good description of the man and his car so we feel sure someone must know who he is.

"It is important we catch him quickly."

The first incident happened on playing fields off Deighton Road in Deighton.

An eight-year-old girl and a young boy were walking across the fields when the man approached them and asked their names.

He then tried to show them a pornographic magazine and they moved away from him.

He pulled his shorts down and carried out an indecent act.

The children ran away and the man fled down a nearby snicket to his car.

An hour later the man stopped his T-registered black car on St John's Avenue in Newsome close to Newsome Working Men's Club.

Two girls aged eight and nine were playing outside the club.

The passenger window was down and when the children looked into the car the man had his shorts around his thighs and was again carrying out an indecent act.

He then drove off.

The car has a large spoiler on the boot, green or grey seats and silver wheels.

The man is white, aged 25 to 40 with short, dark, receding hair. He is unshaven, well-built and wore a green short-sleeved top with several dragon patterns on the front along with light-coloured shorts.

Anyone who knows who the man is should contact Huddersfield CID on 01484 436582, Huddersfield police helpdesk on 01484 436659 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
