A £500 donation has been given to the RSPCA, Halifax & Huddersfield District Branch.

It was handed over by pet insurance provider, Petplan.

The local RSPCA branch is one of many across the nation, which is self-funded and relies on the generosity of the public to raise money to help treat and care for thousands of animals each year.

“We are really delighted to have won this money from Petplan”, says Adele Garbinskas, deputy manager of the branch.

“Having recently expanded, so that we now include the Huddersfield area, we are now seeing an increase in the number of pets that need re-homing. We aim to use the money to continue caring for and re-homing animals, ensuring we offer the best animal welfare possible.”
