A SEARCH has started to find the best-dressed shop window in Huddersfield.

Some 25 shops in the town centre are taking part in the competition by decking out their display windows on a Christmas theme.

Town centre manager Cathy Burger has urged shoppers to back the competition by completing voting forms naming their favourite.

The forms are available at participating shops.

Forms and can be returned to the stores, the tourist information office at Albion Street, or posted to Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership, Unit 51, Media Centre, Northumberland Street, Huddersfield HD1 1RL.

The deadline for voting is next Monday.

All the forms will be entered in a lucky draw to be made on Wednesday, December 13 - with the winner receiving £50 of shopping vouchers.

Formal judging of the shopfronts takes place this week - with the winner to be named next week.

Retailers taking part include jewellers, clothes stores, charity shops , hair salons and florists.

Ms Burger said window displays would be judged on a range of factors - including visual impact, creativity and artistic merit.

The winner will win £100 to donate to a charity of their choice.
