THIS is a shot Honley photographer Gary Stevenson says was worth getting up early for.

It was taken last week on a minor detour as Mr Stevenson drove to work in Barnsley via Upper Knowl near Digley Reservoir.

He said: “For somebody who is interested in landscape photography, I’m not much of an early riser, so I normally make use of the golden hour around sunset, but I might try a bit harder to get myself out of bed in a morning from now on.”

Gary, whose work can be currently seen at the upper gallery in the Month Of Sundaes ice-cream parlour in Marsden, is something of a newcomer to photography.

But he’s already taken part in the Marsden Moods photobook project and is currently working on a series of new photographs for a forthcoming exhibition at the Marsden gallery.
