PHOTOGRAPHER Mark Hemingway goes for a cycle ride just about every day, which takes him into some of Huddersfield’s most spectacular scenery.

With his camera always at the ready he couldn’t resist this photograph of the moors taken from a track off Moor Side Lane between Pole Moor and Slaithwaite.

Mark, of Lindley, said: “You can get some cracking days in winter and this photograph shows just how low the sun was in the sky even though it was 10am.

“My ideal route is up New Hey Road to Buckstones and then sometimes I head back down towards Halifax and then drop down and round Scammonden Reservoir.

“If I have more time I’ll go right along the moors to places like Denshaw and Delph.

“Trouble is, when you get past Scammonden it tends to get quite breezy no matter what time of year it is, but there’s some wonderful scenery out there.’’
