A RARE sunny day was captured by budding photographer Alex Martin.

Alex, also a keen gardener, was testing his new camera around the picturesque Magdale in Honley.

And he managed to capture the rays of sun shining through the dense trees in Magdale Wood, creating a mist-effect among the shade of the trees.

Alex, of Honley, said: “I’d just got my new camera and was getting used to it when I took this one.

“It’s a nice spot to go for a walk.”

Many of the pictures we have received have been landscapes of our picturesque town.

But if your eye has been caught by a sunny face, a community event or a beautiful building, then send in those images too.

We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people.

So get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.

Send entries with details of where they were taken to features@examiner.co.uk or you can drop them in the post to: Picture of the Week, Features department, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Queen Street South, Huddersfield, HD1 3DU.
