DIGLEY Reservoir has taken on a mean and moody hue on this striking photograph.
It was taken by 19-year-old Emma Turner from New Mill while she was out in the countryside above Holmfirth with friend Jess Kirk.
Emma, who is going to start an art and design course at Kirklees College later this year, said: “The sun was just starting to go down and I thought it would make a great photograph – so I borrowed Jess’ phone to take it.’’
The image was taken on a Sony Ericsson C902 phone.
Digley Reservoir is near both Holme and Black Hill and is a popular spot for walkers.
There will be an eight-mile circular tour of the upper Holme Valley reservoirs led by Kirklees Countryside Volunteers on Sunday, March 28, from 11am to 5pm.
Meet at the large car park in the quarry on the north side of Digley Reservoir, off Digley Royd Lane, one mile from Holme (Grid Ref. SE 110 072 or post code HD9 2RS). Phone Susan on 07979 292781 for more information.
If your eye has been caught by a sunny face, a community event or a stunning building then send in those images too.
We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people.
