IT’S a well known landmark which is awash with colour.
Entitled Summer Serenity, this photograph of Beaumont Park was taken by Dennis Foster, who snapped it while the grass was green and the flowers in bloom one sunny afternoon.
The park is a hotspot on a sunny day for families and young children or people enjoying a peaceful and picturesque stroll.
Mr Foster, of Crosland Moor, was doing just that when he took the photograph on his Nikon D200 digital camera, which has a 14mm lens, f8 at 1/180seconds.
It was taken on Friday June 4 at 3.15pm.
The park has had a remarkable transformation of late – thanks to the hard work of the Friends of Beaumont Park.
A cascade and fountain down the main driveway have been restored and the Victorian gates have also been opened up again as part of a £50,000 scheme backed by English Heritage and Kirklees Council.
We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people, so if your eye has been caught by a sunny face, a community event or a beautiful building, then send in those images for our Picture of the Week, which runs every Wednesday.
Get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.
