CALLING all pie fans! Fancy starring in a TV advert?

TV production company Pulse Films has turned the spotlight on Huddersfield in its search for a star.

The London-based firm want a “real” person with a passion for pies to promote a supermarket chain’s range of gourmet pies.

The firm was attracted to Huddersfield because of the world famous Denby Dale Pie, a commemorative giant baked to celebrate major events.

Casting researcher James Greenall said it would be great if they could find someone from the Huddersfield area.

“We are looking for someone with personality, who comes across well on screen and who can talk naturally and passionately about pies,” he said.

Casting for the adverts is under way and the successful candidate will be paid for their time.

The first Denby Dale Pie was made in 1788 and was said to celebrate the recovery of King George III from a bout of ‘madness’. The last was baked to mark the Millennium.
