MORE than £1,300 will be spent combating problems with pigeon droppings in Lockwood.

Councillors have agreed to put £1,350 towards the cost of cleaning up pavements next to the River Holme, putting up ‘Do not feed the pigeon signs’ and repainting railings.

A report to Huddersfield South Area Committee said: “Members and residents are concerned about the dilapidated area at the side of the River Holme in Lockwood.

“The pavements are covered in pigeon droppings and the kerbsides are in need of grubbing and weeding due to excessive accumulation of silt.”

Plans were approved at the committee’s meeting.
