GUESTS were tickled pink when they attended Huddersfield’s first Pink Ball.

The evening of entertainment was held at the George Hotel to raise money for this year’s Pink Picnic. The popular event, held at Castle Hill, celebrates Kirklees’ lesbian, gay and bisexual community.

Over 100 people dressed in their best to attend the glittering pink-themed ball, which included entertainment from local bands and a DJ.

The event was attended by Mr Gay UK 2008 and Examiner columnist Terry George.

The ball was organised by staff at the New Union bar and the Pride Sisters.

Organisers estimated that the evening raised £1,500 for the Pink Picnic, which is on July 27. They hope the pre-picnic fundraiser will become an annual event.
