A PAIR of pint-sized robbers threatened staff at a shop before escaping with cash from a safe.

The two male robbers, both believed to be around 5ft tall, raided the Co-Op store on Huddersfield Road in Mirfield on Monday.

At around 9:45pm two men armed with claw hammers entered the shop as staff were closing for the night and made demands for cash.

The robbers ushered the four members of staff into the back of the shop and stole cash from a coin safe before leaving.

No-one was injured in the robbery and the suspects have been described as two white men who were around 5ft tall.

One was of large build with a chubby face and short blonde hair. He also had blue to green eyes.

The second suspect was only described as being slightly taller than the first.  Both were wearing hooded tops and scarves to cover their faces.
