ARMED police swooped in Marsh yesterday after three people were spotted with a gun.
The officers challenged two men and a woman at Westbourne Road at 2.30pm and found a 9mm blank firing pistol in their possession.
The gun was confiscated and the three were given a stern warning.
Det Con Stewart Green, of Huddersfield CID, said: "Sadly we are getting reports of people being seen with guns in public places in Kirklees far too regularly.
"There is absolutely no reason why anyone should have a replica weapon, a ball-bearing gun or a blank-firing pistol in a public place.
"It makes people fearful and if they call us we will treat the weapon as a real one until we can thoroughly examine it."
