A plan for 31 new homes in Denby Dale has been unveiled.
An application from Conroy Brook (Developments) Ltd has been submitted to Kirklees Council.
The application is a full planning application for the construction of 31 dwellings consisting of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.
Of the 31 new houses outlined in the planning application, 11% of the housing development (six dwellings) will be affordable.
That figure falls below the council’s requirement that 30% of houses in a development are affordable.
But Conroy Brook believe that this shortfall is justified due to the financial contribution they will make toward a new library in the village.
The land at Wood Nook Farm where the plan aims to build the new properties is currently open pasture.
