WITH Christmas only weeks away, most people will be thinking about buying and wrapping presents.

But for many people, the granting of one simple wish may be all they need to make their festive dreams come true.

So, once again, the Examiner has teamed up with Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table to help play Santa to some very special people this Christmas with its Christmas Wish Campaign.

Carl Pearson, chairman of Pendragon, said, "We've had a great time this year raising money for good causes in Huddersfield with the Duck Race and the Bonfire and, as always, would like to give away some of that money to help make Christmas extra-special for worthy and deserving causes.

"We want to brighten up the lives of people who have had a difficult time or who have worked hard supporting others during 2006 - people who you think deserve a special treat this Christmas.

"The smallest of wishes might be all that is needed. So, if you know of anyone who deserves having a special wish granted, just let us know."

The rules are simple:

You may apply on behalf of yourself, your children, parents, other relatives, friends or neighbours:

* It could be a family in your street which has struggled against adversity;

* It could be someone who has been selfless in the support of others in need;

* It could be a voluntary organisation that needs some help with a Christmas project.

The application may be made by email or letter. Please complete the details on the coupon above.

The address for applications by letter is:

The Round Table Christmas Wish, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, PO Box A26, Queen Street South, Huddersfield, HD1 2TD.

The address for e-mail applications is community@ pendragon843.org.uk

The closing date is Wednesday November 29, 2006.

Please note that only applicants whose wish is put forward for consideration will be contacted.

Members of Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table work hard to support the community, but the key aim is to have a good time.

As well as fundraising, members enjoy many and varied activities such as sailing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, karting, quiz nights, comedy club, theatre, concerts, sporting competitions and dinners.
