BURGLARS who smashed their way into a pub to steal a charity box are still on the loose.
The thieves broke into the Bankfield Inn on Bleak Street at Gomersal overnight on January 29. After setting off the alarm, they ripped the box off the wall to deactivate it.
They then stole more than £700 collected in memory of a staff member’s daughter who died from a heart condition. The money was in a container chained to the bar.
