A BUSINESSWOMAN is pleading for the return of a missing laptop, which she needs for her work.

Patricia Nuttall, who runs a building and interior design business from her home in Netherton, left the white Sony laptop in the back of a taxi after returning from a four-day business trip to London.

She now fears that the computer – which has hundreds of images of houses under various stages of renovation – has been stolen.

The laptop bag was also stuffed with paperwork and an A4 notebook containing almost a year’s work.

Patricia has reported her loss to the police and has also pursued inquiries with the taxi driver.

The incident was at about 4.30pm last Monday when Patricia caught a white London-style taxi cab outside Huddersfield railway station at St George’s Square.

She said: “I put the laptop next to me in the back of the taxi, but I had so many bags and cases that I didn’t notice until later that evening that the laptop was missing.”

She tracked down the taxi driver, who remembered dropping her off, but he had not noticed the laptop still in his cab.

On his return to the town centre, the driver said he was flagged down by a young man outside the Red Lion pub at Lockwood. He was dropped off at Alder Street, Fartown.

She said: “The police are investigating and the taxi driver has been marvellous. I am covered by insurance for the loss of the laptop, but there are masses of pictures and information on it that I can’t recover.”
