A MAN has gone missing from a Yorkshire hospital.

Police are concerned for the safety of Melville Akers who was last seen at around 4.30pm on Thursday, June 26, by nursing staff in Scarborough’s Cross Lane Hospital.

He is described as white, age 49, 6ft tall and of large build. He has short grey hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and beige combat style trousers.

Mr Akers is known to travel extensively across the Yorkshire region and police have appealed to anyone who may have seen a man answering his description, in particular public transport staff, to contact Scarborough Police on 0845 60 60 247.
