A MAN was robbed at knifepoint by two teenagers who had stalked him and his friend.

The 22-year-old victim and his 29-year-old friend were asked for cigarettes by the teenagers on Hillhouse Lane, in Hillhouse, shortly after 3pm yesterday. The teenagers then followed them and eventually confronted them again on Great Northern Street, near the Hudawi Centre.

This time they threatened the 22- year-old man with a penknife and at one point held it to his head. He handed over his portable CD player, but the thieves rejected this.

One then searched him and stole his wallet and mobile phone.

They fled back along Great Northern Street when the 29-year-old shouted for help.

Det Con Steve Shaw, of Huddersfield CID, said: "We understand that a woman in a small red sports car parked on Great Northern Street saw everything that happened and we would urge her to come forward."

Both robbers were white and aged 14 to 16.
