VINTAGE cars helped a Huddersfield car dealership to celebrate 100 years of Ford.

Polar Ford on St Andrew’s Road, had 11 cars on display in their showroom.

Sales Manager Chris Maidens said: “We had quite a lot of people come in and take an interest in the cars.

“Some of our customers and car enthusiasts have been kind enough to lend us some of the cars on display to help mark Ford’s centenary year.

“One of the cars we had here was an old Le Mans GT40 which is a really rare piece of kit.

“Throughout the day we have had a number of cars come and go including Sierras and a Model T.”

Ford was formally established in the UK in March 1911, with the first showroom operating in Shaftesbury Avenue, London.

Following the war, Ford opened more factories including one in Doncaster and Halewood, Liverpool which built the Ford’s longest running model, the Anglia.
