A MIRFIELD man was killed on the M62 yesterday morning after he was struck by a lorry.
The 20-year-old had left his white Renault Clio car stationary on the eastbound hard shoulder between junction 29 and 30 near Rothwell when he was hit by a blue Mercedes truck at 7.20am.
He sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wakefield’s Pinderfields hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The victim has not yet been named, but police confirmed he came from Mirfield.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information.
