POLICE have appealed for a man who stopped a Heckmondwike sex offender from allegedly abducting a child, to come forward.

POLICE have appealed for a man who stopped a Heckmondwike sex offender from allegedly abducting a child, to come forward.

Roy Barton, 30, of Westgate, Heckmondwike, is suspected of attempting to kidnap a 12-year-old girl in his car in Leeds on January 9.

Barton has been remanded in custody charged with kidnap and a number of offences in relation to breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
