Police want to speak to six men in connection with an assault on staff at a takeaway.

The incident happened at Tarantino’s takeaway in Cleckheaton town centre last Monday (April 7).

At 1.30am a group of six men entered the premises and demanded food.

On being told the premises was closing they became racially abusive and two of the men assaulted male staff inside.

The staff were not seriously injured.

However police would like to speak with two men in connection with the assaults.

One is described as white, aged 23, 6ft 1in tall, of a heavy build with blonde hair and a dark coloured top.

The other was described as white, aged around 45, bald, of a heavy build and wearing a short sleeved checked, light coloured shirt.

He was heavily tattooed on both arms.

Police are also seeking to identify four other men who were part of the group.

PC Phil Miller, of the Spen & Batley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This was a serious incident in which victims were racially abused.

“This sort of behaviour is unacceptable and I would ask anyone who has information about the incident to contact me.”

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
