Police probing a car chase which ended in an attack have made three arrests.

But detectives from Kirklees CID are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fracas in the car park on Cliffe Street, Dewsbury at abut 1am on Thursday.

A 21-year-old Dewsbury man was assaulted in the incident and his black Honda Civic car was also damaged by a group of men. Three young men are now in police custody.

Before the alleged assault it is believed the attackers had followed the victim’s Honda Civic from the Shell Petrol Station on Batley Road in two cars at about 12.30am.

They were then joined by another two cars, resulting in the four chasing the Civic into Batley Carr and then back into Dewsbury where the Civic pulled into the Cliffe Street car park.
