POLICE last night blitzed an area of Huddersfield where a pensioner was found with terrible injuries.
The 67-year-old man, who has not been named, is still critically ill in the intensive care unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
He was found with severe facial injuries in Glenfield Avenue, Deighton, at 11pm on Friday, October 8.
He had just taken part in a karaoke session at the Wise Owl pub, at the junction of Leeds Road and Deighton Road.
He was found collapsed and badly hurt within minutes of leaving it.
Detectives are investigating how the man came to suffer such serious injuries.
They carried out a search for information in the area late last night, in a bid to trace anyone who may have seen him after he left the pub.
Officers in uniform and plain clothes talked to people and stopped cars in Leeds Road, Deighton Road and Glenfield Avenue.
A police spokesman said: "Several vehicles were stopped in the area and several inquiries will be followed up over the weekend."
Anyone who has information and has not yet come forward should phone Huddersfield CID on 01484 436582.
