Police called to reports of a burglary at a former Dewsbury pub found two cannabis factories in the cellar.
The former Luppy’s pub in Boothroyd Lane, Westtown, has been turned into flats and one of the residents phoned police at 8.30am on Thursday.
Police were told a burglary was in progress but when they searched the building – which has a disused bookmaker’s shop attached – they found cannabis plants and equipment in two rooms in the cellar.
Officers from Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team dismantled the equipment and an investigation is underway.
