A POLICEMAN was injured when his patrol car was rammed by a JCB digger stolen in Huddersfield.

He was on patrol in Queen's Road, just outside Halifax town centre, when he saw the JCB.

It had been reported stolen from business premises at Penistone Road, Fenay Bridge.

The JCB reversed into the police car and pushed it about 50 yards down the road.

The police car hit a parked car and the JCB driver ran off.

The officer was treated at the Calderdale Royal Hospital for minor neck and back injuries and discharged.
