A DESPERATE gang rammed a police car after they were cornered in a cul-de-sac.
The three hooded men were seen acting suspiciously near Premier Food And Wine on Smith House Avenue in Brighouse at 10.30pm on Friday.
They sped off in a red Vauxhall Cavalier, but turned into nearby Holtby Grove, which is a dead end.
Insp Mark McManus, of Calderdale Police, said: "When they realised they had nowhere to go they put their car into reverse and rammed it into the police car before driving off."
The police car was wrecked at the front.
The Cavalier, which was badly damaged at the back, was found dumped at Tabbs Court, Scholes, Cleckheaton.
The police officers escaped with shock and minor injuries.
