THREE Kirklees groups are benefiting from a police charity cash pot.

West Yorkshire Police's Community Trust gives out grants to community groups and this year has focused on parents, carers and schemes which reduce anti-social behaviour.

The local grants to groups are:

* £2,710 to Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club which has involved about 5,000 young people with its work and now aims to take a portable gym into the community. The money will pay for boxing gloves, a computer and other equipment which will help make this project work.

* £1,500 to Khidmat which supports parents and carers by promoting ways to reduce anti-social behaviour in all languages.

* £1,550 for Community Biketrain Ltd to pay for a six-week pilot scheme for 60 young people. This will help to divert them from anti-social behaviour.
