A PAKISTAN police chief has been in Huddersfield for key talks.

The Director-General of the National Police Bureau Dr Shoaib Suddle was the chief guest at the reception hosted by the UK Asian Christians.

The reception was attended by dignitaries including the Bishop of Bradford, the Bishop of Pontefract, Pakistan Consul-General and representatives from Muslim and Christian communities.

The meeting was attended by more than 60 delegates.

Organiser Mr Yaqub Masih said "Dr Suddles' visit has strengthened our links and we look forward to working together on this initiative."

The reception was organised and hosted by Mr Masih, secretary of the UK Asian Christians Fellowship.

Mr Masih and the Bishop of Pontefract, the Rt Rev Tony Robinson, invited Dr Suddle during their visit to Islamabad, Pakistan, in September.

The aim of the visit was to set up an International Committee on Peace and Tolerance between Pakistan and UK.
