A PENSIONER has gone missing from his Huddersfield home.

Ronald Roberts, 72, known as Ronnie, from Crosland Hill has been unaccounted for since 1pm on Tuesday.

Yesterday morning the police helicopter was called out to assist searches for him in the Crosland Moor and Meltham areas, but he has still not been traced.

Police are concerned for his welfare and have called for anyone who knows anything about his whereabouts to get in touch.

He was last seen at his Stainecross Avenue home.

At the time he was wearing dark trousers, a light coloured shirt and dark shoes but it is believed he took a quilted coat with a hood and tracksuit bottoms with him.

Mr Roberts is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall and of a large build, bald with grey sideburns.

It is believed he may still be in the Crosland Moor area and anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Huddersfield CID on 01484 437745.
