POLICE believe a boy has been tricking elderly people out of money.

He called at two homes in the Upper Butts area of Cleckheaton, saying he was doing a sponsored walk for charity.

He said people had to give at least £5. He took £10 from one woman and £5 from another.

Both women are in their early 90s and the boy called at their homes at about 10.30am on Thursday.

Detective Constable Russ Conlon said: "We believe he is not a genuine caller and would like to trace him.

"Our understanding from the charity is that no-one is doing door-to-door collections in that area for them."

The boy is white, aged 12 to 14 and slim, with a thin, pale face and short, mousy-brown hair.

He wore a light shirt and a navy blue sweater and carried a clipboard.
