POLICE in West Yorkshire want the public’s help in the war on drugs.

Their plea follows a raid in Leeds, where a cannabis factory in Harehills was shut down by officers and a large number of suspected cannabis plants seized.

They had an anonymous tip-off that people had been taking lighting equipment and large plants into a property on Roundhay Road.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the address and around 500 cannabis plants seized.

A spokesman for the West Yorkshire force said: “We would always ask the public to report any suspicious activity – whether it’s about drug use or anti-social behaviour – to their local police as we will always act on the information.”
