Police investigate after ‘firearms’ alert in Ravensthorpe

ARMED police and the force helicopter were called to Ravensthorpe on Monday night.

ARMED police and the force helicopter were called to Ravensthorpe on Monday night.

Ambulance crews attended a house at Beacon Street and believed they had seen a firearm.

Armed response units were sent at 8.06pm, but no firearm was found and no shots were fired, said police.

Neighbourhood Policing Team officers were yesterday carrying out high visibility reassurance patrols in thearea.

Kirklees CID is investigating what happened.
