A TERRIFIED woman rigged up a secret spy camera – to catch the man leaving her unwanted gifts.

This early-hours caller has been leaving presents on the doorstep of her Birkby home.

But she has been frightened by his unwanted attentions and has now joined police in an appeal to catch the man.

Officers have released a CCTV image of the man, caught outside the woman’s home.

Police say he could face harassment charges because of his actions.

The 31-year-old woman contacted police after she continued to find parcels on the doorstep of her Blacker Road, Birkby, home.

She first reported it to police last April and since then the woman has found 18 parcels, usually left between midnight and 8am.

They have been left on random dates and the parcels, usually wrapped in brown paper, have contained items such as perfume, teddy bears and gift boxes containing watches and magazines.

Police say further gifts were left on her doorstep between midnight and 8am on Saturday, and before that two parcels were left on Valentine’s Day.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: “There is no correspondence with the parcels or anything which can be deemed threatening or abusive.

“But the complainant is upset and harassed by these unwanted gestures.

“She has become more worried as the incidents have become more frequent and she wonders what could happen next.

“She set up her own CCTV system outside the house and has passed on images of a man to police”.

Police have now released a CCTV still of a man they would like to speak to in connection with allegations of harassment.
