FIFTEEN mountain bikes have been stolen from a school.

Police are investigating the theft from Cliffe Hill Primary School in Lightcliffe.

All of the bikes taken were mountain bikes. They were in a metal container at the school at Stoney Lane .

So far three youths have been arrested and three bikes have been recovered.

But police are trying to trace the remaining 12 bikes.

Police believe they were stolen from a large metal container between February 18 and February 28 – during the half-term holidays.

Sgt Dean Maddocks, of Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and to anyone who may have recently been offered a bike for sale to contact us.”

Models include the Schwinn Mesa Bike, Giant Boulder and Giant Rincon.
