POLICE believe the same gang of thugs is responsible for two motiveless attacks just hours apart.
A 25-year-old man was assaulted on Lobley Street in Heckmondwike between 9.15pm and 9.45pm on Saturday and a 31-year-old man was attacked on High Street in Heckmondwike between midnight and 1am on Sunday.
Both victims were detained overnight at Dewsbury District Hospital for treatment.
All the thugs are Asian youths.
Two are aged 18 or 19 and one wore a green bomber jacket.
The third was smaller than the others and wore dark clothes.
In the second attack the victim was attacked from behind and knocked unconscious after suffering facial injuries.
Witnesses said they saw three Asian youths in the area at the time with descriptions matching those responsible for the earlier attack.
Nothing was stolen from either victim.
