Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses following a robbery at a store in Batley on Boxing Day.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at around 9pm on Healey Lane in Batley.

two men entered the mini market with one threatening the 17-year-old staff member with a knife.

The second man then forced open the shutter protecting the cigarette cabinet and stole a quantity of cigarettes.

Both men then fled leaving the male shop assistant shaken but unharmed.

The first suspect was described as Asian, 6ft 4ins tall, skinny, with short dark hair and in his mid 20s.

He was wearing a black hoody with the hood up, black skinny tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a dark red and light brown bandana over his face.

The second man was wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Det Sgt Adrian Belle, of the Kirklees Robbery Team, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this offence and would like to speak to anyone who saw the suspects enter the shop or run away afterwards.

“Anyone who has information about the robbery is asked to contact the Kirklees Robbery Team on 101, or give it anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
