The woman whose body was found in a canal in Mirfield has been named by police.
Linda Sheard, 36, from Mirfield, was found by officers on Tuesday following reports of a body in the Calder and Hebble Navigation off Station Road, near to the Lidl car park.
Her family have now been informed and enquiries into the circumstances of her death are ongoing.
But West Yorkshire Police say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A file will now be passed to the West Yorkshire Coroner’s office in Bradford and an inquest will be opened and adjourned shortly.
Police were called when residents living on a house boat saw a body in the water.
In recent months there have been several waterways tragedies in Kirklees.
In March alone four bodies were pulled from rivers and canals in less than a month.
