SIX policemen have been arrested over an alleged assault in Dewsbury, it emerged today.
They were questioned on Wednesday about with the incident, alleged to have taken place in July.
West Yorkshire Police said the six were serving officers.
But it refused to say where the officers were based.
They were released on bail after being questioned at police stations across the county.
They are still on active duty.
A spokeswoman for the force said its inquiries were continuing.
She added: "I can confirm six men have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Dewsbury in July, 2006.
"They have been released without charge," she continued.
A spokesman for the Independent Police Complaints Commission said West Yorkshire Police had not yet submitted a report.
