A WOMAN stopped a young robbery victim from being attacked by two thugs.

Now police have urged the boy’s saviour to come forward as she may have vital information about the mugging.

The 13-year-old victim and a friend were walking along a snicket off Almondbury Bank in Almondbury when he was grabbed around the throat by the two would-be thieves at around 3.30pm last Friday.

They began to search through his clothes when the woman passing by saw what was happening and intervened.

When they realised they had been rumbled, the two muggers fled.

Both are white and aged 17 or 18. One has short black hair and the other is skinny and tall.

Det Con Russ Conlon, of Kirklees CID intelligence unit, said: “The passerby certainly saved the victim and we would appeal to her to come forward.’’
